OXANA'S ORIGINAL RITUAL

Lifting the Grey Veil

This ritual is best performed in the evening, when no one is rushing you. A waning moon is suitable, but there is no need to wait for it. If you feel heaviness, irritation, other people's emotions or an inner stickiness, the right time has already come.

What you will need

One white candle
A glass of clean water
Three pinches of salt
A small piece of white cloth or a napkin
A sprig of rosemary, a bay leaf or a little dried lavender
Clean clothes for after the ritual

Set your phone to silent. Open a window for a few minutes so the room can breathe out.

1. Creating the circle

Light the candle and place the glass of water beside it. Add three pinches of salt slowly, one after another. Speak one line with each pinch:

Hold the herb or bay leaf above the flame without setting it alight. Simply warm it with the candle's heat, then speak the invocation.

The first salt removes what is foreign.The second salt cleanses what is mine.The third salt closes the path to all heaviness.Fire awakens strength. Water carries away heaviness. Salt restores purity. Air takes away all that is no longer needed.

2. Removing the veil

Stand before the candle and close your eyes. Imagine a thin grey veil around your body. It contains other people's words, anxiety, unpleasant looks, tiredness and everything that has clung to you during the last few days.

Move your palms slowly down the body without touching the skin: from crown to shoulders, shoulders to hands, chest to abdomen, hips to feet. Move as if you were removing invisible threads. After every movement, shake your hands toward the floor. Repeat the cleansing three times.

3. Cleansing with water

Dip the white cloth into the salted water. Gently touch the forehead, back of the head, heart area, palms and feet. Keep the remaining water until the ritual is closed.

Forehead — My thoughts are clear.Back of the head — The past no longer holds me.Heart — My heart belongs to me.Palms — My strength returns to my hands.Feet — My path is clear.

4. Returning your own light

Sit before the candle. Imagine a tiny point of light inside your chest. Do not choose its color in advance; let the color come by itself.

With every breath the point grows brighter. First it fills your chest, then your abdomen, head, arms and legs. Finally it extends beyond the body and forms a soft luminous field around you. Sit with it for a few quiet minutes.

I call my energy back to me — from places, people, conversations, memories and expectations.All that is mine returns to me purified. All that is foreign leaves me without a trace.My field becomes whole. My space belongs to me.I am clear. I am gathered. I am protected.

5. Closing

Move your palms around the body as if smoothing an invisible cloak of light. Let the candle burn down in a safe place or extinguish it with a candle snuffer.

Pour the water into the sink or toilet. Wash the cloth separately. Discard the bay leaf or herb outside the home. Put on clean clothes, drink ordinary water and avoid unpleasant messages for at least half an hour. Let the field settle like transparent fabric after the wind.

Around me is clear space. Good enters freely. What is foreign and heavy passes by.My energy is whole, calm and strong. So may it be.What was removed has gone. What has gone does not return.
